This is my theory on this. I don't have any inside info this is just my theory.

I don't think Microsoft and Sony are going after the same market this time. I believe Sony is going after the individuals who bought PS3's and 360's this gen, and Microsoft is looking to add women and casuals sort of like Nintendo did with the original Wii. I think Microsoft believes that they can do more with the casual audience than Nintendo did. That's why were are seeing...

I have a problem with how broad EA's rights are. I don't have a problem with EA having rights to some Star Wars franchises. I have a problems with EA having exclusive rights to ALL Star Wars games.

Giving someone exclusive rights just gives them a license to make crappy games and get away with it because there is no competitor in the marketplace to hold them accountable. Look at what happened when EA got exclusive rights to the NFL. I see no reason why Star Wars ...

That's a joke right?

If you got a worse sentence for destroying the evidence, then no one would ever destroy evidence.

If you want to catch criminals, you can't give them a chance to destroy the evidence.

Committing Crime 101. First Day, First Lesson - Destroy the evidence.

The FBI practically let him go when they interviewed him without a warrant to search his computers. I have no doubt that his hard drives were wiped, scrubbed with magnets, torn apart, cut into pieces at the plates, burnt, and scattered within two hours after the FBI left his house.

You have to be an idiot to keep the evidence after the FBI lets you know that they are watching you. You d...

Hayashi seems to be in over his head a bit. Xbox 360 fans hate him. He doesn't seem to understand the marketplace and made several mistakes. He should have kept releasing Ninja Gaiden in the order of Xbox gets the numbered release first, and PS3 gets the improved Sigma release second. And he obviously went wayyy to far in watering down the combat.

He should have given the 360 fans some sort of benefit in DOA5.

On the bright side, the author was right when he said that LucasArts wasn't exactly making great games. I agree with that. EA does at least give us proper sequels to their most popular games. LucasArts always, tried to milk successful games by giving us half-assed and shoestring budget sequels. LucasArts wasn't willing to spend the necessary time on KOTOR 2, nor did they even come b...

But preventing the playback of Blu-ray movies would put a dent in Microsoft's strategy of have the next Xbox be the main entertainment hub.

4750d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

I wouldn't say highly unlikely. Sony may not own Blu-ray entirely, but Sony is almost solely responsible for its success by putting a blu-ray drive in every PS3. Since Sony put their Playstation business at risk for blu-ray, I would consider it very likely that Sony got some form of protection from other game consoles in return. It wouldn't be fair if any random company could just use the blu-ray format for their games at will, without any input from Sony, even though Sony was the ...

Miss me with all the gun control crap. This boy tried to rape his own mother. Let me write that again, RAPE HIS OWN MOTHER. He had deep issues that go beyond simply having access to a gun, or simply having a video game.

That's a good deal for someone who was going to pay $499, which is the price that Thurott reports that the new Xbox will cost. In fact, it's too good. ($15 x 24months = $360) and ($299 + $360 = $659). Someone who just buy the new Xbox outright for $499 and buys XBLGold would pay $499 + $60 yr1 +$60 yr2 = $619. Only $40 more and and the break even point wouldn't be until the last 3 months of the two year contract.

I suspect that Microsoft expects to make a killi...

You would....

1) Avoid every fight that you could possible avoid. That means you...
---a) Try not to be seen or heard when you move.
---b) Hide whenever possible.

2) Hoard ammo... more than enough for the next fight. That means you...
---a) Run away from enemies that you could actually defeat.
---b) Use whatever environmental advantage allows you to save ammo.

3) Make sure that you will win if you must fight. ...

Actually you should not buy either right now, because it is impossible to tell what will get you the best value for your money.

You do know that the new systems are just around the corner,
but you don't know exactly when,
and you don't know how much they will cost.

You do know that the current gen systems or at least the PS3 will get a price cut,
but you don't know by how much,
and you don't know when

I think Versus could be a system seller for the PS4. Especially if it is as good as we hope it is and it gets into the PS4 launch window.

I (and others) think that has been the plan ever since FFXIII got lackluster results and, yet, Square Enix still surprised everyone by releasing FFXIII-2 instead of Versus.

Some games are "always online" because some games are online only. It's not a problem if a game wants to do that. I will take that into account and either buy the game or I won't.

The problem comes when a console is "always online". The logic is the same for for my purchasing decision. I will take the always online into account and either buy the console or I won't. In my case, I won't buy the con...

I want to push back a bit on the notion that Sony messed up this generation. Sony will fininsh this generation in second place overall (behind the Wii and ahead of the 360) in consoles sold, in spite of costing at least $100 more for the entire generation.

Sony made a calculated decision to push blu-ray. It looks like their decision has worked. Blu-ray discs are the standard for HD movies and Sony gets a cut of each one sold. The next Xbox will have a blu-ray player in i...

Welcome to the site Akaihana. Glad to have you.

Let me give you a brief history of this site, News 4 Gamers, or N4G.

Way back, just before the 360 and the PS3 released, there was a great war here. The war was between the fans of the Xbox 360 and the fans of the PS3. In those days, the fans of the Xbox 360 outnumbered fans of the PS3 by 3-to-1. Sometime around the release of Killzone 2 the scale tipped to about 1-to-1. Now the everyone on both sides admit...

If a developer want its offline single player game to login to an online server before it will work, then that developer could do that now on either or both platforms. The problem is that this game wouldn't sell, and everybody knows it.

Nobody likes being told what to do with their own property.

Most likely something like that would only work if it was implement at the console level.
But then, if Microsoft builds it's console such that ...

Microsoft is going to change when the market forces it to change. As long as people are paying for Xbox live, Microsoft will charge for Xbox Live. It would be stupid for Microsoft to voluntary stop charging for Xbox Live when all of the evidence says that their customers will pay for it. Microsoft rarely does stupid things.

While we are on the topic of what's stupid, paying for something that the competition gives you for free is stupid.

There is no way...
